Collection outlets connect to the conical hopper bottoms. This documentary photograph shows a large compartmented metal casing, several rows of conical hoppers, platforms, ladders, lower outlets and an adjoining stack. The scene documents the expected electrostatic separation of dust or ash from a flue-gas stream; gas composition, electrical state and collection efficiency are not visible. Composition: the conical hoppers, lower outlets and supporting steelwork.
